Wrong. In TCM, feet are one of the most important body parts to keep warm.

Why? Because feet are the farthest body part from your heart. By the time blood reaches your feet, it’s traveled a long way and has already cooled down. When your feet get cold, blood vessels constrict, and blood flows even slower. That makes your whole body feel cold.

To make things worse, many energy channels in TCM run through your feet, connecting to important organs. When your feet are cold, it’s like water pipes freezing — energy and blood can’t flow smoothly. Many people’s chronic stomach problems, menstrual pain, and back pain actually start from cold feet.

How do you know if your feet are too cold? Easy. Touch your feet before bed. If they feel noticeably colder than the rest of your body — or even ice cold — that’s a sign you need to keep them warm.

What to do? Nothing complicated.

In winter, wear thick socks and warm shoes. If you have heated floors, walking barefoot is fine. If your floors are cold, wear cotton slippers.

Every night before bed, soak your feet in warm water. No herbs needed. Just warm water. Slightly warmer than your body temperature — hot enough to feel good, not hot enough to burn. Soak for fifteen to twenty minutes, until your feet turn slightly red and you feel a light sweat. Then dry them off, put on socks, and go to sleep.

Foot soaking isn’t just for old people. Try it once. You’ll feel warm all over. You’ll sleep better. Warm feet = warm body.

[5

post-96","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-tcm-regimen
["GET
